Basement air quality problems?

I am worried that there are some air quality problems in my basement. It is a half finished basement, and every time I sleep down there I wake up the next morning with a very dry mouth, a sore throat, it also feels like I am losing my voice. I have tried bringing an air purifier down there and also a humidifier which did not help much at all with my voice problems. Also as soon as I sleep upstairs instead of in my basement all those problems seem to just disappear. I was wondering who I should contact about this problem, or what the problem could actually be.

Three common air issues are mold radon and ventialtion. Radon effect you over time so it’s not immediate. Mold makes you sick right away. Both can be tested with kits at the hardware store you mail away.

If you have windows open them and get air going threw there for a few hours. Run a dehumidifier if there is musky air.

But try those tests to see if either is an issue before callin in a pro
